Meet the staff of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.

Dr. Cecilia Hernandez

Cecilia M. Hernandez, Ph.D. Before taking on my role as Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness, I was a College Professor of Science and Teacher Education in the College of Health, Education and Social Transformation, beginning as an Assistant Professor in 2012. I hold a Bachelor and a Master of Science in Biology from Texas Tech University, in Lubbock, TX, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS. I have taught courses related to science K-16 for over 30 years beginning as an 8th grade science teacher. I have also worked with school districts, community colleges, and university faculty in continuously improving teacher education programs across New Mexico, Kansas and Texas.

 

Dr. Annah Conn

Smiling woman with glasses in a maroon top against a brown studio background. Dr. Annah Conn is the Director Assessment for New Mexico State University. With over a decade of experience working within higher education in the areas of assessment, evaluation, analytics, institutional research, and accreditation. She has played a pivotal role in Tribal Colleges and Universities with reforming their data collection, assessment methods, and spearheading reaccreditation. She is one of few Native American Peer Reviewers for the Higher Learning Commission and reaffirming tribal colleges accreditation.  Annah holds a doctoral degree from Northern Arizona University in Educational Leadership.

Dr. Ryan Goss 

I am the Professor of Horticulture and Turfgrass Science in the Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences. I have been at NMSU since 2006 focused on teaching undergraduates in Horticulture related fields, researching ways to reduce potable water use in turfgrass and other urban landscapes, and connecting to a wide range of students through online education. I am current chair of the General Education Course Certification Committee (GECCC) and the Committee for the Assessment of Student Learning in General Education (CASL-GE). I have spent over ten years working on Assessment at NMSU. My family and I started the Aggie Organ Donor Scholarship at NMSU. 

Carley Casey

I am a two-time NMSU Alum with a BA in Dance and an MBA, originally from Silver City, NM. I currently serve as the Project Support Specialist for Institutional Effectiveness, assisting with project management, websites, forms, committees, and much more. If I am not at work, I am acting as the advisor to Ballet Folklorico Orgullo de Nuevo Mexico, assisting with the NMSU Pride of New Mexico, or teaching dance. 

Kerry Forsythe

I've worked at NMSU for over 22 years and have 2 degrees from NMSU. In my current position as Institutional Researcher, Lead, I provide academic data analysis and visualization to support Institutional Effectiveness projects such as accreditation and assessment. I've also an adjunct instructor teaching for DACC's Creative Media Technology since 2010. In my previous position, I was an instructional designer helping faculty improve their online courses. I am a master reviewer for Quality Matters and chair about 6 national course reviews per year.
